Trompe l'oeil toilet mural

Trompe l'oeil translates as 'to trick the eye' and is a specialised area of mural painting.

Vanishing points, real time viewing height and perspective are the key areas of creating a convincing illusion.

This mural was painted in an archway in a downstairs loo.

The conifer was replaced with a topary bush shortly after completion (see bottom pic)

After the completion of this mural it was decided to replace the conifer with a topary bush.
